We were notified on Friday afternoon that all heart transplant kids were being deactivated for a week due to there only being one surgeon available before the upcoming July 4th holiday AND that we were free to go home for this week, so we did!
I’ve never flown (because I have always been terrified!!), but my sister Tiffany, Logan and I booked flights out of Houston and were determined to get to Tulsa. I think the family thought I’d chicken out, but I totally put my big girl pants on. I’m not gonna lie, losing control is a big issue for me and it’s not pretty. (Funny thing? I know I’m never in control, yet I still have the illusion firmly planted in my mind that I keep us safe. Yeah, I know, you can stop laughing now!)
>>>All things considered, it was a good trip. I consider it a success because I didn’t hyperventilate, have a need for a barf bag or touch a plane potty.<<<
The only thing I did wrong was leave my blackberry on the first plane in my rush to catch our connection. The pilot called my husband (Seth thought it was me and answered “Hey babe, how was your flight?”)….hilarity ensued…..and the captain came onto my connection and had a little fun at my expense. I’m totally thankful though, Southwest totally went the extra mile for me today!
Logan received a certificate in honor of his first flight (And yes, I joked about needing one as well. I might not have been joking, but whatever!!) and people fawned over him the whole time. It never fails – in every public place Logan finds someone to call Dada. Today was no exception! My child can scare any man in 1.2 seconds. LOL
Anyhow, we are home and are going to try to enjoy every second of it!
