The apartments we have lived in both times we have been in Houston are rented by a local Houston church, Bammel Church of Christ, and sublet to patients of the local hospitals for a substantially lower rate than you’d find in a hotel. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is also nearby, so usually these apartments are occupied by very sick people from all of the country who are undergoing surgeries, chemo and various other painful procedures. The apartments are 100% furnished – all we had to bring was our clothing and personal items, laptops and Logan’s toys.
To say that this ministry has blessed my family would be an understatement. Not only have many of the members taken a personal interest in us, but they bring cookies, call to check in and send encouraging cards on a weekly basis. Some even came to the hospital and sat with us during Logan’s critical few weeks before his angel heart arrived. What a phenomenal group.
So, of course we wanted to take Logan to their small group bible study to thank them personally and to show off our miracle boy.

Miss Doris bought him a musical turtle, but we opened it at home because she said it was loud. It really isn’t loud and he LOVES the turtle!

What an awesome place! Such a generous group, and I know how much easier they have made things for you guys all these months. Can't wait for you guys to turn in your keys and head north!!
